Tropical Traditions Whole Wheat Flour Giveaway

We used to eat white bread all the time in our home.  With more attention being given to whole grains in the marketplace though, and reading many articles about it, I knew that we needed to started replacing our white bread with whole wheat bread.  I made the switch gradually, starting with whole grain white, and shifting over to whole wheat after a few months, now we eat whole wheat bread almost exclusively.

I recently procured a bread machine, and the first loaf of bread I made it in it was a Whole Wheat Honey Bread made from Tropical Traditions Organic Stone-Ground Whole Wheat Flour.

Great River Organic Milling uses old fashioned stone wheels to grind their grains.  They are one of the few granite stone millers left in America.  They use a slower process with less heat involved, and nothing is removed from the grain.

Their Whole Wheat Flour is milled from organic hard red spring wheat.

So here’s how to get a fresh loaf of Whole Wheat Honey Bread using your bread machine, I found the recipe on Allrecipes.com.

Whole Wheat Honey Bread

1 1/8 cups water
3 cups Tropical Traditions Whole Wheat Flour
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/3 cup honey
1 tablespoon dry milk powder
1 1/2 tablespoons Tropical Traditions Palm Shortening
1 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast

Place ingredients in bread machine pan in the order suggested by the manufacturer.  Select Whole Wheat setting and 1.5 pound loaf, and then press start.

Of course you can always find great recipes on Tropical Traditions too!
