Lazy Cake Pops ~ For Those of Us With No Time…or Talent

You’ve seen them, you’ve oohed, you’ve ahhed, you’ve bookmarked and pinned.  And then you whimper just a bit, because you know you could never create those awesome Cake Pops you keep seeing all over the internet.  You just don’t have the time to make marshmallow fondant to scultp beaks and tails.  Or if you’re like me – you just don’t have the talent to do it.  It’s an art, a craft.

Creative Slow-Cooker Meals: Use Two Slow Cookers for Tasty and Easy Dinners

Hello, Slow-Cooker! Seriously, why have I NEVER thought to make a meal using both slow-cookers I own?! I haven’t as far as I recall ever used a cookbook so much since I first got it as I have Cheryl Moeller’s Creative Slow-Cooker Meals: Use Two Slow Cookers for Tasty and Easy Dinners.

My family doesn’t like ‘casseroles’ much, so I generally am still making a side dish in the oven or in the microwave if I’m making my meat dish in the slow-cooker. But not anymore!

Tex-Mex Lasagna

Okay I know that “technically” lasagna in itself means that the dish was made with lasagna noodles, but I like the sound of Tex-Mex Lasagna better than Taco Pie, and it’s my blog so I’m calling it that!

The original recipe came from Kraft Foods (disclosure that I’m an official Kraft Foods Blogger – I didn’t get anything to make this recipe though, just so you know).

Creamy Ranch Crockpot Turkey with Italian Cheese Mashed Potatoes

I think I’ve mentioned before that my family is kind of picky when it comes to food.  It’s because of this that I very rarely make a recipe as it’s lined out.

I’ve been stalking Pinterest lately because there are all sorts of recipes that have been pinned on there, that I’d never be able to find myself online.  And maybe it’s because a lot of them come from ‘mom blogs’ and if I can’t use the recipes as written at least they’re fairly easy to modify to fit the tastes of my family.

Egg Free Cake Mix Cookies Recipe

So I have a friend who reads my blog, and she let me know that she was missing my dessert recipes .  I needed to do a ‘clean out’ of my pantry anyway so baked up a cookie recipe that you could alter to do a variety of things with.  I made them “Valentine” like by adding red M&Ms and some food coloring, but the flavors and add ins can be left up to your tastes and imagination.  There are no eggs in this, so if you’re a ‘dough eater’, no worries!

S’mores Bars for Challenge Butter’s ‘Real Heritage Recipe Contest’!

S’mores = The ooey, gooey snack that everyone loves.  We love chocolate and marshmallows in this home and summer isn’t complete without at least one night where we indulge in the treat.  Give me S’mores and I am in heaven.  It’s a tradition that is worth sharing even in mid-winter when roasting marshmallows over an open fire isn’t really a possiblity in South Dakota.
