This summer’s hit drama, “The Help,” comes home for the holidays on Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD, Digital Download and On-Demand, today!
The movie takes place in the early 1960s in Jackson, Mississippi, where a female journalist Eugenia “Skeeter” Pehlan (Emma Stone) decides to tell the story of the ‘the help’ from their own point of view.
The Help Blu-ray Combo Pack provides audiences with the chance to delve deeper into the movie through compelling, never-before-seen bonus features, including “The Making of ‘The Help:’ From Friendship To Film,” an intimate look at how the life-changing experiences of close-knit childhood friends director Tate Taylor and novelist Kathryn Stockett led to the creation of the best-selling novel and its transition to the big screen.
Here’s a short clip which features my favorite character from the movie Minny.
Additional bonus includes “In Their Own Words: A Tribute To the Maids Of Mississippi,” which is an honest observation of lie in the South from real-life maids; Deleted Scenes; and Mary J. Blige’s “The Living Proof,” music video from the film’s end titles.
When you watch this movie you will become so engrossed in it. The characters will touch you in a way you weren’t expecting. I think because of the time period and because it is steeped in history, even though it is a work of fiction you feel towards Skeeter, Aibileen and Minny, you shake your head at Elizabeth’s confusion and yes, even want to slap Hilly. This is the second time I’ve seen the movie, I first watched it on our Disney Cruise back in August, and I can’t wait to watch it again, it’s a great story.
I’d be surprised if you didn’t have someone on your gift list that wouldn’t like this as a gift. This week only you can get $5.00 off the Blu-ray Combo Pack when purchasing in retail stores.
