As I mentioned in my Cars 2 review, Pixar knows their stuff, and the quality of the Blu-ray 3D picture and sound on the discs is exceptional.  Even the picture on the trailers for upcoming Disney/Pixar Brave and Planes releases on the discs were perfect.

Cars 2, Pixar Animation Studios’ big summer blockbuster, is now available on DVD, Blu-ray and 3D Blu-ray for home viewing.

All the world’s a racetrack as racing superstar Lightning McQueen zooms back into action, with his best friend Mater in tow, to take on the globe’s fastest and finest in this thrilling high-octane new installment of the “Cars” saga.  Mater and McQueen will need their passports as they find themselves in a world of intrigue, thrills and fast-paced comedic escapades around the globe.

We’ve partied with Pirates on the High Seas many times.  We’ve danced and eaten at Pirates IN the Caribbean parties, a Pirates in the Mediterranean party, a Pirates in Alaska party (although no one told the Pirates at the last two that we weren’t in the Caribbean…).  We’ve even had our picture taken with a few famous pirates…

One of the ports we stopped at in Alaska on our Disney Cruise was Skagway.  We took an excursion where we boarded a bus and drove up to Carcross, Yukon in Canada, and then took the White Pass Rail back down to Skagway.

Before we even left town, we got to see this neat contraption.

On October 25, 2011, Winnie the Pooh was released on Blu-ray and DVD!  We got to watch this DVD and I’ll tell you a bit about it below.

Now I’ll be honest right up front…I’m a little biased toward Winnie the Pooh.  See the character was named after a black bear at the London Zoo, who was donated by Capt. Coleburn the owner

Disney’s loveable Buddies are back in the spine-tingling movie caper SPOOKY BUDDIES.  Embarking on a journey to save the world from Warwick the Warlock and the Halloween Hound, this trick-or-treat adventure celebrates friendship, courage, and teamwork.

How fun would it be to watch this installment of the ‘Buddies’ franchise to get your kids ready for Halloween?

This movie is really cute.  You have got to love all the dogs in their costumes!  I like Rosebud’s ‘Princess’ costume.  Check out the video below:

Here’s the dessert we got to see being made from the Pastry Chef aboard the Disney Wonder.  These would make an awesome brunch dish as well!

One of the neat things on sea days that Disney Cruise Line offers is a series of demonstrations called “Art of Entertaining”.  On our Alaskan cruise my mom and I attended three of these where some of the head chefs on the ship showed us how to make main courses, appetizers and desserts and then we got to taste them!
