I got kind of nostalgic when I watched Bolt in 3D at home, because it was the first 3D movie I ever saw.  We actually saw it on one of our Disney Cruises in the Walt Disney Theater – it was if I remember correctly the first 3D movie that was shown on the Disney Magic.  I remember loving the movie then, and my feelings haven’t changed 3 years later.  Until now we had not seen it since that initial viewing.

My daughter loves Bolt and his obliviousness to the fact that he really isn’t a superhero.  Bolt virtually leaps off the screen in 3D which makes this DVD so much more engaging then just watching it in 2D.  This is a great family movie, but be aware that it is rated PG.

What I love about Blu-ray discs is the variety of Bonus Features that they include on them.  I especially enjoyed watching the Creating The World of Bolt feature, it is an interesting behind the scenes look at the designing of the film.

If you don’t own a copy of Bolt yet this 4-Disc Combo Pack would make a great addition to your collection.  It would also be a good holiday gift for kids ages 4+ (in my opinion) if they have never seen it or don’t have this DVD yet.

  1. I think this movie is adorable. I like this configuration of discs. My kids bring DVDs to their grandparents place but they don't have a Blu-ray player so this way they can watch their favorite movies at home and at the gran's. Now I want to buy this for my son for Christmas. Thank you for sharing.
