When Amber hits the pool with her friends or goes to camp, I’m always concerned she’s more occupied with fun than remembering to reapply sunscreen.  Her fair skin burns quickly, and then we have days of complaining, itching and flaking, and years of hoping the UV rays didn’t do irreparable damage.

Even if she does remember to reapply the sunscreen, who knows if it’s been absorbed completely before it has washed off from the pool chemicals, and all the high spf sunscreen a family needs to get over the summer can be costly.

Energizer knows that little (well and big!) children that use battery powered toys can get into mischief when the batteries are drained.  But they want to know your story too!  So take out those video cameras and have your child explain what kinds of “alternative play” (shaving cream all over the walls, giving the dog a pedicure, maybe taking all the packing peanuts out of the latest delivery box and decorate the living room?) they come up with when their electronic toys run out of juice.

We travel a lot and I’m pretty frugal so it wasn’t difficult to come up with 10 creative and affordable vacation ideas.

1. Look for coupons.  Before you get to your destination search the internet for coupons or discounts to use on attractions and restaurants.  They are out there for virtually every place you might visit.  From Buy 1 get 1 to % off discounts you will save money. 

How many of you got your toilets cleaned for Mother’s Day? Uh huh, I figured as much, me neither.  Scrubbing Bubbles sent me a pretty good Mother’s Day gift though.  Well it probably wasn’t meant to be a Mother’s Day gift, but Scrubbing Bubbles has made cleaning my toilets so easy, it might as well have been one.   And I’m even going to show you how they work, and then share some too!  Because no one likes to clean toilets.  Right?  Please tell me you’re all nodding right now.  Phew…

So as I mentioned in an earlier post, on our last sea day we went and played Bingo.  Since it was Earth Day they were giving out special goodies, and we got a Disney DVD; The Lion King: Circle of Life Sing Along Songs.
