One of the best things about having a smart phone is also having a camera with you at all times. I bit the bullet and got an iPhone 4S around Thanksgiving last year, and I’ve taken so many more impromptu pictures then I ever had, just because I can. You never know what kind of moment you can capture in time, and now I can because I always have a camera on me. The thing is, all these pictures I’ve taken…they just sort of ‘stay’ in my phone. I mean sure I upload them to Instagram or Facebook, but it’s not like I sit and bring up those sites to just look through my photos. So unless I take the time to cord my phone to my computer and then use a photo service to print them, they just ‘sit’ there.

Living in a cold weather climate for at least 1/3 of the year means that some of us rely on hot beverages to keep our core temperature up during the day 😉 I admit to preferring hot coffee over other choices, but even I can only drink so much of it and often switch to herbal and decaffeinated teas during the afternoon and evening hours. While I generally drink my coffee straight up (unless I’m playing barista), I need my tea sweetened or it won’t be going down.

My husband isn’t much into ‘chick flicks’, as he calls them (usually while rolling his eyes). Sometimes though I can twist his arm to accompany me to one (if I promise him popcorn…). He did go see The Last Song with me a few years ago (although come to think of it, we were in the middle of the ocean on a cruise ship at the time…). This year though, I have my ace in the hole, and that’s because SAFE HAVEN from Relativity Media, well it opens in theaters February 14th; Valentine’s Day. He can’t say no to that, now can he?!

I really find it difficult to believe that Peter Pan was first released 60 years ago! It attests to the ongoing appeal it has to both children and adults. My daughter’s first experience with Peter Pan was at the Disney Parks, where she had to ride Peter Pan’s Flight over and over and over again. I don’t think she had even seen the movie at that point!

My goal everyday is to just get through it without it turning into a reality TV episode. Some days I feel like that clown; juggling fire while walking on bombs! You just know if you drop one — KABOOM! A hectic day can look a little like this in my life:

6:30 AM– Wake up because the phone rings, of course it’s a wrong number and it’s a day I could have slept in a bit longer too 🙁

7:00 AM– Daughter yells from her room that the only pair of clean socks she has, have a hole in them. Laundry or darn? I dig in my drawers to give her a pair of mine. She groans. I groan.

When you’re trying to sell your home and you get offered to write a review on a book called “5 Days to a Clutter Free House” you jump right on that.

I struggle with clutter – it’s not that my house is messy, it usually isn’t, but we like to ‘keep’ things. It’s what we do around here. But as so many of you know, all those little things tend to add up, and then there’s no room to keep them anymore, or if you’re like us in our transition in life, you have to box them up to move them, and it seems so so overwhelming.
