The Relay for Life in our vicinity took place on July 30-31, and we were privileged to take part. October is widely known as Breast Cancer Awareness month, and many of the sponsors you will see on my blog this week, are ones that donate to that specific cancer cause. Interestingly enough there is a month dedicated to the focus of all Cancer Research and that is the month of May.
For Amber and I this walk is significant as my Mom is a cancer survivor. Just last year she was found with a tumor. Fortunately she received excellent treatment and care, and her follow ups indicated that there was no trace of it left after her treatments were done. If only we could get to the point that everyone diagnosed with any type of cancer would have the same results.
The estimated number of new cancer cases expected to be diagnosed in the United States in 2010 is 1,529,560, with a number that large, it’s not difficult to believe that it will effect each one of us somehow, whether it is a diagnosis for ourselves, a parent, sibling, relative or friend.
Do you ever go out to a special occasion, a wedding or formal dinner party and wonder why you ever purchased wore the shoes that you have on your feet, because your feet are aching, you can feel the blisters forming and you can’t think of anything other than the fact that they’re swollen beyond recognition? If you answered yes, then Spare Soles wants to be your new best friend. Oh there has been many a wedding that I wish I had brought a change of footwear for later in the day. But most of the comfy shoes I own are kind of bulky to stash in a sleek handbag.
Spare Soles are a unique, compact, hygienic and fashionable solution. Spare Soles are so compact you can fit them in your purse or pocket and take them with you anywhere, anytime. Slip on a pair of these truly portable flats.
I got to try the Spare Soles Flip Flops. They are foldable, take anywhere flip flops that come housed in a wristlet that opens to a spare tote bag (which you can shove your heels into!). I generally don’t wear flip flops as I find the thong that separates the big toe from the rest uncomfortable, but I do have to say that the Spare Soles are quite comfy, I’m looking forward to the next even that I can bring them too! They feature:
- Comfortable soft twill upper
- Compact foldable jeweled flip flops
- Durable thick soles for all day walking
- Skid resistant water-proof sole
