Hallmark Get Carded Challenge & Giveaway

My friend Virginia over at That Bald Chick let me know about a campaign she is working on, and I thought it was pretty neat.  It is the Get Carded Challenge by Hallmark.  When I heard about it, I decided I want to take on the challenge myself!

My challenge was to send seven cards in seven days to seven people who are important to me!  I thought it would be a fun challenge to help me connect and reconnect with loved ones.

Educents ~ Huge Discounts on Educational Products

When we first started our homeschool journey, I wasn’t quite sure where to start. I mostly purchased packaged curriculum, and we used that until I found a good rhythm, and then I felt more comfortable to branch out and use other things for our lessons.

When you live in a small city though, it’s sometimes hard to find the things you need. A lot of books that are on reading lists aren’t available through our local library. There aren’t a lot of enrichment activities to take part in. And manipulatives, can often be expensive, especially if you can only find them at a “teacher’s” store.

JJ Heller’s Album “LOVED” Give Away

Today marks the release date of Christian music artist JJ Heller‘s latest album “Loved”.  There’s no better way to describe it than excellent music with pensive lyrics.  If you love music that carries a message, then this CD will appeal to you.

A number of songs stood out to me on the album.  The lead track “If You Fall” especially did.  It is a testimony to lasting relationships even when they are difficult to be a part of.

Red Envelope for Great Gifts

If you are looking for a place to buy great gifts, Red Envelope is an online place you might want to look at. I have purchased items from Red Envelope in the past and have been very happy with the quality of what I received.

I was able to buy a couple of more things last month from their online site. Here’s what I got:

First, I got the Mini Casserole Dish.

Walgreens Mobile App Turns Love Into an Easter Gift Basket

I’m not a picture printer by nature. I take pictures. I hoard pictures on flash drives, hard drives and CDs. I look at pictures on my phone, computer monitor and even our TV. But print them? Hardly ever. My mother on the other hand — picture printing…obsessed. She prints every picture she takes…in duplicate (sometimes triplicate!).

Zazzle Product Review

This post comes with an incredibly fun self-promotion of…ME.  Hey, I let you know ahead of time!

So since I got my iPhone, I’ve been a little obsessed with cases.  It’s fun to buy them in different colors and types, but even more so when you can personalize them any way you like.  One online shop I have a great time exploring for accessories for my iPhone is Zazzle.  They really have some unique and cute designs from the people that sell using the Zazzle storefront, or you can design your own.

A Tale of Not Enough Ink

Clearly I am a woman who likes to live on the edge.

I push the limits, eeking out the very last of everything, to get the most value – but I might have been presumptuous recently, when it came to how much ink I had left in my printer.

When we got engaged, my aunt filled a photo album full of recipe cards of tried and trued dishes, and gave it to me at one of my showers. It was one of the best gifts I got. A lot of those recipes are my staple go to ones still twenty years later.

I Want To Go On Some of the Best UK Road Trips

Next year is our 20th wedding anniversary. It’s also the year our daughter will start college. My husband and I are thinking we’ll take a vacation to celebrate in the fall of 2014 (our anniversary is in April) after our daughter is settled into dorm life.

One of the places we’re considering is England. Both of us have been to Europe before, but neither one of us have been to the UK and we’d both really love to see London and the surrounding area.

Irish Cream Swirl Brownies for St. Patrick’s Day

Irish Cream Swirl Brownies

The one thing that’s great about the holidays, is that you end up making seasonal food that wouldn’t be on your radar otherwise. When it comes to St. Patrick’s Day one immediately conjures up food recipes that are green and/or have booze.

Thanks to the McCormick Kitchen experts, I tried my hand at a St. Patrick’s Day goody, which incorporates both the green and the booze (well in my case at least the flavor of the booze LOL!). It’s a festive creation to pull out for dessert on March 17th.
