NIV College Devotional Bible
This week has been a test on my patience and grace. After finally calming down from the stress of our nightmarish home closing and the realization that the home needs more work than we were led to believe (which I’m sure will be another blog post in the future), now we were stalking the mailbox for notification that our daughter was a National Merit Semi-Finalist….with no notification being delivered.
Buttoned Up Organizational Boot Camp
Back in June I ran a giveaway for a DIY Buttoned Up Boot Camp. The purpose of the Boot Camp is simple; to help busy people get sanely organized. Since we were smack-dab in the middle of our move to Texas at the time I didn’t start my Button Up Boot Camp until we were settled in our new home and was hoping this organizational resource would help me to keep my head above water.
So after using it for 30 days what do I think? I LOVE the concept of it. It was a non-overwhelming streamlined way to organize not just my home, but my daily time in general.
Shutterfly Photo Story for iPad and Giveaway
When it comes to printing out my photos or making photo gifts, Shutterfly has always been a trusted name for me. Now they’ve made it even easier for me to create photo books where ever I might be with their newly launched iPad app; Shutterfly Photo Story.
When I first heard about it, I was a bit sceptical because I thought I’d have to use photos that were on my iPad to make the book, and honestly I don’t use my iPad much for picture taking because the resolution on it isn’t great.
Rocky Road Ice Cream Sliders
Seriously, it is still SO HOT here in North Texas. Sunday it was 106 degrees! We saw rain for the first time in over a month on Labor Day, and I’m so ready for a cool breeze. Give me a few years and I’ll likely be used to it, but right now this northern girl is M.E.L.T.I.N.G.
We’ve been attending a church with Saturday evening services since we moved, which is an awesome thing because my husband works on Sunday mornings, so we can go to church as a family and worship together. We’ve been hitting up the 7-Eleven or Marble Slab Creamery on the way home each week for either Sluprees or ice cream.
Weight Watchers Works for Me – My Weight Loss Journey
So earlier this summer, I was asked to review Weight Watchers’ new 360° program.
I had used Weight Watchers Online 11 years ago to lose 30 pounds, so I knew the program worked for me. Right now I don’t have a lot of weight to lose, when I started the review, I was about five pounds heavier than my goal weight was back in 2002, and I wanted to get back to that. Back then I used the online program because I just didn’t have the time to go to weekly meetings.
Walmart Family Mobile – Best Wireless for International Calling
When it comes to smart phones I’m a relative ‘newbie’ to the scene. I only got my first smart phone a little over a year ago, and admittedly I became hooked rather fast on it. I had an ‘okay’ phone, nothing fancy but got kind of starry eyed with the whole iPhone thing and then last December plunged into a prepaid deal where I bought the 4S up front out of pocket and then subscribed to the prepaid service. I don’t have a contract…but my phone will only work with their service. So it might as well be a contract, right?!
Master Lock Wall Mount Push Button Lock Box
With just recently having moved from a small city where if you left your garage door open all night you didn’t have to worry too much to a large metroplex of 6,000,000 people where they probably record more crimes in a day than there were people living in our previous city; it’s no wonder that I’m even more concerned about safety than I used to be. I think we live in a pretty safe neighborhood, but since we’re just getting to know our community and haven’t made any local friends yet, we don’t really have any one to trust as of yet to watch out for our place when we go away.
DIY: Convert a Large T-shirt Into a Tunic Tank
Ever wonder what to do with those X-Large T-shirts that no one wants to wear, or don’t fit anyone in your home? Well you can make them into Tunic Tanks for your kids (or yourself if you’re small).
YoCrunch sent me a t-shirt for being a part of their First Taste Family, but it was a 3XL. My husband is just an X-Large and well you’ve seen me, I’m tiny. So this shirt wasn’t going to get worn. But then I saw an article in Family Fun on how to make a grown-up’s t-shirt into a tank or tunic for kids and I thought I’d try it.
Let’s Get Stuffed – Three Cheese Florentine Stuffed Burger! #goodcookkitchenexprt
I love burgers. Mostly because I generally don’t have to make them
. When we have burgers that’s my husband’s domain and he is the King of the Grill…or we go out for burgers. Either way, no cooking for me.
But with the latest Good Cook Kitchen Expert Event, they asked us “What can you stuff in a burger?” So the reins got thrown back to me for dinner as flipping, not creating, burgers is what King of the Grill does.
