I would think that most everyone that is reading this post has at least one tech gadget in their home. Whether it’s a smartphone, tablet, Kindle, Nintendo DS or a digital camera. At the very least you all probably have a TV many of them flat screens that are plasma or LED. And while some of you might be at the library or a friend or family member’s home reading this on their computer, if you’re not doing it on a mobile gadget, you’re viewing this on your own monitor. So what am I getting at? Then there’s at least one item (or more) on this list that will be handy to you (or at least I hope you think so!).

The church we attend just completed a new building to worship in this spring.  For a few weekends in March and early April they had some guests come and help us open the building and invited and welcomed the community to come visit (and hopefully come back too!).  One of the special guests that came was Nicole C. Mullen. 

I took video of what is probably her most recognized song “My Redeemer Lives” and thought it was so appropriate to post today.

When I was asked to review and do a giveaway for Dr. Fischer’s Mineral products with the benefits of Dead Sea minerals for Mother’s Day, I immediately thought of my mom.  Of course because it’s Mother’s Day, and she’s my mom, and because she loves to be treated to a day at the spa, but really it’s because my mom and dad are frequent travelers to Israel and every time they come home she raves about the Dead Sea mud and her ‘beauty treatment’ .

I have a few blogging friends that are SO creative, they make these incredibly cute and healthy Bento Box lunches for their children to take to school (or even to eat at home!).  I was lucky if I remembered to take the ice pack out of the freezer or pack a spoon for the yogurt when I was making lunches for Amber…

But today I’m beaming from ear to ear because I think I nailed a cute Cinco de Mayo Bento Box idea for you guys to run with, make all your own and one up me on (because admittedly I just don’t have the supplies to make it as awesome as it could be like those seasoned Bento moms).  How fun would it be to pack something like this in their lunches on May 5th?

As the mom of an “almost” grown up, I’ve recognized that through the years there are different stages of parenting and we can tie those stages right from the beginning together to open the way for discussion to the responsible use of alcohol.

A few days ago, I was paging through a magazine and found an ad with a recipe for an Italian-Style Mac & Cheese with Chicken – since my husband is not a fan of sausage I figured I would substitute chicken breast in it instead, and I had everything else in my pantry and fridge to make it. (Well, almost.)

The creaminess of the cheese sauce was to be made from evaporated milk.  I assembled all my items, got ready to make the recipe and opened the can of evaporated milk..and it was weird.   Ewww it had expired (time to do a pantry clean out I guess!).

Here is a chocolaty twist on a traditional favorite peanut butter cookie.  The cookies will come out of the oven flatter than you would expect, but the insides stay chewy and the outer edges are crispy – the perfect texture combination to the sweet & salty of the chocolate and peanut butter!
