Gorton’s Seafood Giveaway

A company that has been around for 161 years has got to have something going for it.  In the case of Gorton’s it is because they are trusted for the quality and taste of the seafood that provide your family.  The fisherman in his yellow slicker and hat is an iconic figure that makes its way from the grocer’s freezer to the freezers in homes all across the country.

Gorton’s serves up everything from the Fish Sticks that kids love, to Grilled selections for the more “seasoned” palate.  We have long been fans of Gorton’s in our home, and I’m going to let you browse in my freezer a bit, and share with you our favorites from their product line.

I pretty much will eat (and enjoy!) any type of seafood, but both Hubby and Amber have distinct preferences when it comes to their fish.

Hubby’s favorite is Gorton’s Potato Crunch Fillets

  • Real potato breading delivers a delicious potato chip flavor that is hard to resist.
  • Flaky whole white fish fillets

These crunchy fillets are satisfying and great with a side of fries.  They have a bit more of a “grown up” taste than traditional fish stick breading, but the kids will devour them too!

Amber on the other hand isn’t overly fond of breaded fish, she prefers what she calls “fancy fish”.  Grilled fish with some flavoring to it.  So we usually have a box or two of the All Natural Lemon Pepper Grilled Fillets.

  • Flaky white fish fillets caught in icy arctic waters
  • Expertly flame-grilled with the flavor of outdoor grilling
  • Lightly seasoned with real lemon and ground pepper
  • Only 3 grams of fat
  • Just 100 calories
  • 1 gram carbs per serving

She loves these.  The part I like about them, is that you can make them in the microwave if you like.  That’s ideal for our family because if we’re eating something that Amber doesn’t care for, or if she needs to eat dinner earlier or later because of an activity she’s involved in, I can pop one into the microwave and in 3 minutes, she’s got a delicious healthy meal to eat.

One of the products our whole family enjoys together though, is the combination of the breaded fish that Hubby prefers and the “fancy fish” that Amber prefers.  My taste buds just tag along for the ride!  Gorton’s Garlic and Herb Fillets.

  • Flaky whole white fish fillets
  • Savory blend of Garlic & Herbs in a crunchy breadcrumb coating

This box size is perfect for a family of 3 or 4 (if you have young children).  The fillets look on the small size, but two of them are plenty when you have your sides added.

The breading is what makes these so superb.  The breading is not really thick like on a beer battered fillet it’s more of a coating, and it is flavored just right.  The crunch still gives it that “deep fried” texture, but of course you just bake it right in your oven!

Gorton’s wide variety of seafood options makes it easy and delicious to enjoy all the health benefits of seafood.  Fish goes well with rice, pasta, potatoes or a salad, and the many choices will keep you coming back for more.  There is also a 50¢ coupon that you can print for your next purchase.
