Hate Cooking? Then You Need The I Hate To Cook Book (Giveaway)

So you have to host a dinner party.  You don’t cook much, actually you hate to cook.  But you know the guests are expecting something that didn’t come out of a box or a carton, so how do you pull it off with food that’s still edible?

The I Hate To Cook Book: Updated and Revised by Peg Bracken is here to rescue you!  This is the 50th Anniversary Edition of the American Classic, and all told over 3 million copies have been sold!

If you hate to cook, reason number one you need this book.  The recipes are easy and short.  Anybody can make the recipes in this book.

Since this book was first published 50 years ago, don’t expect the no fat, no carbs, low calorie recipes, the recipes in the I Hate To Cook Book are comfort food at its finest.  Like the Parmesan Potatoes recipe that comes with the disclaimer “Lovely and creamy and fattening”.  Or nothing like topping off the calories of some deli meat by making French-Fried Sandwiches.  And the icing on the cake (literally) has your scale moving just by reading the ingredients in Good Old Confectioner’s Sugar Frosting.

You’ll actually want to try making the recipes in this book, especially if you’re a non-cooker because Peg Bracken makes each section and intro so witty, you have got to wonder just what’s up with the food that goes with the humor.  Besides that then you’ll also have some good dinner conversation to share with your guests!

So to let you know, I have made a number of recipes from the book for our family Spuds O’Grotten was super easy to make with mashed potatoes purchased in the refrigerated section of the grocery store…and here is a photo of our delicious dinner of Crisscross Potatoes and Saturday Night Chicken (shh don’t tell I made it on a Friday!).

If you hate cooking, but want to be a happy entertainer, grab this book but beware you might (gasp) start liking to cook!
