Epil-X at TVTopTen.com – Giveaway

var fbShare = {size: ‘small’,}

I really don’t like shaving. I’ve tried alternatives, waxing, threading, but ugh… those are all too painful for me. Sigh, so shaving it is.

I recently was sent Epil-X Mousse (As Seen on TV), in the strawberry scent. It’s billed as the quick and easy alternative to shaving. Just spray only 7 minutes and wipe away.

Sounds great for a person who doesn’t like to shave, so I tried it. It was easy enough to spray on, although it’s cold when you apply it (so be forewarned!), and I had some troubles getting an even coverage. I did manage to get it all over my legs but some places had a heavier layer of ‘foam’ than others.

It didn’t sting when putting it on, but I also didn’t really smell the “strawberry” scent of it at all. It smelled like any other hair removal product I’ve used. Make sure you use it in a well ventilated area.

I left it on for the 7 minutes that was recommended on the front of the can. Although on the back instruction it states leave on for 6 – 12 minutes. So it’s kind of hit and miss the first time you use it, I would suggest the 12 minutes minimum.

When I hopped in the shower and took a wet cloth to my legs, I didn’t see any hair was removed. I was disappointed. That being said, I took a razor to my legs and underarms and the hair came out very easily. It seemed it just needed a little more friction than what my wash cloth could provide.

While it didn’t work the way I wished it would have, I had the smoothest legs and underarms I’ve ever had when shaving. I also had none of the ‘red bumps’ that come with shaving.

It also says that it will last up to 6 weeks before having to re-apply. I honestly wish I could say that were true, unfortunately the hair growth was back a number of days later. The nice thing is, I can actually get an extra day or two between shaves shaving only 2 or 3 times a week using Epil-X instead of everyday , but I can’t remove hair with it entirely on its own.

One reader will receive one bottle of Epil-X to try for themselves.
