Sometimes it can feel overwhelming for a busy mom to get all her ducks in a row for dinner each day, so I wanted to share with you a neat new product that has recently been placed on the grocery store shelves.  French’s Flavor Infuser™ Marinades.  They come in four mouthwatering flavors: Sweet & Tangy Teriyaki, Classic Steakhouse, Zesty Italian, and Caribbean Jerk.  I haven’t had a chance to try out all the flavors yet, but I definitely wanted to share with you how easy (and time saving) it is to use them!

In celebration of Mother’s Day, Procter & Gamble® has teamed up with Dollar General to honor moms, Every Day Heroes who sacrifice for their families and still find time to make a difference in their communities.  Using the theme “Moms Rule,” the Dollar General “Every Day Heroes®” campaign will also honor moms by offering great savings for the heroes closest to our hearts. 

With my blog I’ve been fortunate to be able to try quite a lot of different food products, some even before they hit the store shelves.  But my family is still enticed by ads they see on TV or in magazines, and I admit to having boughten snacks before just because I have a coupon for it, even though I’ve never tried the product.

Of course generally when I do that, I buy a full sized product, and sometimes we’ve only taken a bite or two before it goes in the trash, because it’s not what we expected at all.  That turns me off for a while from buying anything new. 

It’s that time of the year again, spring heading into summer (although you’d never know it with the weather we’ve been having here!), which also means Mother’s Day, Graduation and Father’s Day not far behind those.

This year our “other daughter” will be graduating from high school.  It’s almost as emotional as it will be when our daughter herself graduates from high school next year.  See our ‘other daughter’ and ours have been best friends since they were seven years old – they are now 17.  So many of our fondest memories also include her in them. 

I know you see that I post a lot about homeschooling on my blog – but we didn’t always homeschool, my daughter attended public school from Kindergarten through sixth grade.  We were fortunate that from 2nd through 5th grades she was able to attend a magnet school for gifted learners and she had fabulous teachers throughout the entire time she was there.

One teacher though particularly stands out – and that was her 5th grade teacher, Dr. Andrews.  This teacher made learning come alive for her students.

Hugh Jackman, Academy Award® winner Russell Crowe and Anne Hathaway star in this critically acclaimed adaptation of the epic musical phenomenon.  Set agains the backdrop of 19th-century France, Les Misérables tells the story of ex-prisoner Jean Valjean (Jackman), hunted for decades by ruthless policeman Javert (Crowe), after he breaks parole.

As part of the SheSpeaks program I was sent some of P&G’s “most loved” products from their brands to try out. 

Many of them are brands and products that we use in our home every day, and some of them were new products for us.

My life right now has come to a head.  With our daughter going off to college in a year and the impending move to Texas, I’ve spent a lot of time reimagining what life will be like in the coming years with an empty nest in a new state.  I like to think I’ll spend more time outside because the weather will be better.  I’m hoping to have more time to spend blogging and keeping up on current events because I won’t be homeschooling anymore.  And I imagine hopefully to get my DIY on – and start some new crafts and hobbies.  We shall see if any of that comes to pass!
