There can sometimes be a stigma on the entertainment industry as it relates to movies and our children.  It’s often vocalized as: books good, movies bad.  (Despite the fact that so many movies are actually based on books…)  But when your child is a reluctant reader (like mine), movies matter because many of the same things kids learn from books, can be learned from the movies.

I have a 17 year old daughter.  That means I’m around a lot of teenage girls.  And while my daughter is not an average teenager (she doesn’t have a cell phone!), I know what other girls her age are doing.  Texting, Instagramming, Facebooking, Tweeting – and unfortunately that often happens while they’re driving.  Because of that Toyota and Teen Vogue developed a safe driving campaign “Arrive in Style,” to raise awareness of the dangers of distracted driving among teenage girls and inspire them to make a mutual commitment with their mothers to drive safely.

As you may or may not have noticed , I’ve been blogging a lot about our upcoming move this year.  We’ve been slowly packing up our boxes, and I want to make sure that everything is done in an organized way.  That’s pretty easy with the basic stuff, but when we started tackling our office space, all the small parts and cords for our tech gadgets looked pretty overwhelming.  Last week I was sent something that is a fabulous idea for keeping all those cords from getting tangled up.

One of the biggest resources I use when it comes to my blogging are magazines.  They are by far the biggest source of inspiration for my recipes.  I have amassed a rather large collection of them, and my husband is already trying to get me to part with them before we move.
