As a parent do you ever wish you could have a do-over when it comes to something you did (or didn’t do) with your kids? I know my mom does. The school used to do eye checkups free of charge with the school nurse and they sent a letter home when I was 6 or 7 letting my parents know that I should have my eyes checked by an optometrist. My mom had been through that before with my sister and it ended up she could see just fine, so my mom kind of ignored the note.

Besides being on vacation, this year is the first time I’ve experienced fall like weather in mid-November. Growing up in Canada and then living in South Dakota, the flaky white stuff is flying furiously already at this time of the year. The thing is, it has put us in a mode of false security when it comes to the runny noses, sore throats, muffled coughs and of course-the dreaded flu.
It’s been nearly 4 months since we’ve moved and I cannot believe the amount of papers and documents we already have cluttering up our office space. You know all those HIPPA forms from all the new doctors and dentists, the supplemental forms we needed for our mortgage, and of course I’m always getting papers and contracts for my blog. We have a pretty good file organization system but I’ll tell you a little secret …we’re kind of paperwork pack rats. Meaning we keep papers way longer than we need to.
One of the most time consuming and anxiety ridden things about moving to a new city is finding new health care professionals. When you’ve had a good rapport with your previous doctor and all of a sudden have to switch and find a new one it can seem overwhelming. That’s where we find ourselves now 3 months after we’ve moved and are settling in. My husband needed to get a prescription refilled, and our daughter needs a couple of shots and some stomach issues looked at.
I still have 11 months before I send my ‘baby’ off to college, but I’m already getting teary eyed about the whole event and am sitting going through old photos just remember all the wonderful moments we’ve spent together as a family.
Welch’s believes in the magic of “kitchen table” moments, and has been helping families enjoy them for generations. In the time it takes to drink a glass of juice or share a sandwich, a special moment can happen. That’s why Welch’s just launched a new movement called “Share what’s good™”

According to researchers it is estimated that a significant amount of lifetime exposure to UV rays may occur by age 18 and that children’s annual dose of radiation may be up to three times that of adults. One of the most important accessories children could have is appropriate eyewear when exposed to the sun.
Healthy eyes are important to me because all three of us in our family wear corrective lenses.
No, no, no I’m not talking as a gift, or even as a stocking stuffer…LOL…but Arm & Hammer baking soda can help you out around your home in SO many ways for holiday entertaining.
I’ve been using baking soda to clean my home for a number of years now, I use so much of it that I buy it in huge bulk bags at the warehouse store. My favorite way to use it is by dumping 1/4 cup of it down my sink drains and then following that with a 1/2 cup of vinegar. Doing that every other week or so, keeps my sink pipes clear of clogs.
