Barber Foods Seasoned Selects Giveaway

Do you have a wacky or hilarious last-minute dinner drama moment?  I’m sure you do, we all do!  So I’m going to let you in on mine, the one that I’ve kept a secret for a long time.

It has to do with making honeyed carrots.  I had one of those great microwave pots from Pampered Chef.  I loved it.  I made virtually all my veggies in it for dinner.  My family doesn’t care for carrots terribly much, but if I add some honey to them and sweeten them up, they’ll eat them.

So I was preparing this one day and put the carrots, butter and honey in the microwave pot, and put it in the microwave…but mistakenly added an extra 0 onto the time, so instead of 5:00 minutes I put it in for 50:00 minutes.  I got busy doing other things, and completely forgot about both the carrots and the meat I had in the oven.  You can just imagine what happened.  My husband smelled the burning first, and I ran to the microwave, only to discover that the whole bottom of the pot came off, likely a reaction to the honey.  Ah well in the end the dinner went in the garbage.  That was a night that Barber Foods Seasoned Selects could have come to my rescue!

If you’re a fan of stuffed chicken breasts, you’ll enjoy Barber Seasoned Selects.  They’re on the lighter, healthier side since rather than being coated in breading the chicken breast is just seasoned (hence the name!).  We tried the Cordon Bleu and Broccoli & Cheese, but they also come in Spinach Florentine.

I really liked how they baked up – only 35 minutes for three pieces in the oven, plus because the tops are opened, the stuffing doesn’t completely leak out onto the pan like the stuffing in breaded chicken breasts tend to do (at least to me!).
