Tylenol Safety and Convenience Enhancements

var fbShare = {size: ‘small’,}

When Amber was younger she had the fiercest growing pains.  Her legs would hurt so much that many nights we would sit in her room and just massage them until she would fall back asleep.  When it would happen more than once a night we would give her some Tylenol to help relieve the pain.  Correct dosage for your child can sometimes be a confusing issue.  Do you do it by weight or age?  And when you’re giving your child medicine in the wee hours of the morning, and you’re sleep deprived yourself, you may be even more unsure.  No parent wants the guilt of over medicating their child.

Tylenol understands these concerns and so they are enhancing their Infant and Children’s Tylenol products and I want to share some of updates with you.

New Features

Infants’ Tylenol will be available with a new bottle that has a protective opening and a new push-in-syringe which will:

• Further reduce the risk of children being able to get to the medicine in the bottle
• Provide even better dosing accuracy and ease of administration to your child
• Allow for better control when dispensing the medication and reduce spillage

They will also be enhancing the bottles of Children’s Tylenol with a protective opening that will make it more difficult for a child to get to the medicine in the bottle.

Important Changes to the Concentration of Infants’ Tylenol

Moving forward, there will be one concentration of acetaminophen for single-ingredient Tylenol products for infants and children.  This change is being made to standardize dosing across their products and age groups.

These changes to pediatric Tylenol products will be available as early as this upcoming cold and flu season.

There will be a time period when more than one concentration of infants’ acetaminophen products will be available in stores and parents and caregivers might have both in their medicine cabinets.  Caregivers should be mindful to always read and follow the dosing directions on the package that is being used.
