Subway Giveaway

I mentioned in an earlier post how all I need were a few new pieces of clothing for our upcoming cruise.  I lied, there is something else I need, to lose a few pounds!

Because I know, I’ll gain more than just a few while I’m aboard that ship.

Especially when we take our excursion that includes an all you can eat salmon bake, which also includes corn on the cob (read butter), s’mores and cobbler of some sort.

So despite the yummy food I’ve been reviewing on my blog, I really have been watching what I’ve been eating.  Or trying to at least.  I have found myself reaching for that second cookie.  My husband is my biggest vice, he keeps bringing out snacks in the evening!

I’m also trying to make it a priority to get some exercise in everyday.  So far I’m  100% attendance on the treadmill for four days in a row.  And while the pounds aren’t melting off, I did see a shift downward (albeit just ½ a pound) on the scale yesterday.  That’s encouraging.

I just have to have the motivation.

Subway has a Commit to Fit program.  That’s a great motivational phrase “Commit to Fit”.  And they were nice enough to send me a “Commit to Fit” kit, which included among other things a Jillian Michaels fitness DVD (apparently they know I needed that), and a $10 Subway gift card.  Since we have a Subway in walking distance of our home, we got off our couch and walked there for our dinner yesterday.

I had May’s featured sandwich of the month the “Orchard Chicken Salad Sub”.

I was shocked that a chicken salad could have just 8 grams of fat, usually ‘salad’ sandwiches have loads of fat!
