Simple Pleasures Chocolate Peanut Butter Honey Cookies Recipe

Now, chocolate lovers all over the nation have a reason to celebrate!  Hershey’s Simple Pleasures Chocolates is a new delicious line of chocolates with 30% less fat compared to the average of the leading milk chocolates.  They are individually wrapped for easy portion control, making them the perfect afternoon sweet snack.

They’re available now in three smooth and creamy varieties: Milk Chocolate with Chocolate Crème, Dark Chocolate with Chocolate Crème and Milk Chocolate with Vanilla Crème.

I used these in a twist of the favorite “Peanut Butter Blossom” cookies, where you usually use a Hershey’s Kiss and also substituted Honey Peanut Butter for the plain peanut butter for just a little change up!

Simple Pleasures Chocolate Peanut Butter Honey Cookies Recipe
MAKES ABOUT 22 – 3 INCH COOKIES

1 bag HERSHEY’S SIMPLE PLEASURES Milk Chocolate with Chocolate Crème
1/2 cup of shortening
1 cup PETER PAN Honey Roast Creamy Peanut Butter
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

Granulated Sugar set aside {for rolling cookies in}

1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.  While it’s preheating remove the wrappers from the Simple Pleasures Milk Chocolate with Chocolate Crème.

2. Beat peanut butter and shortening together.  Add measured sugars to the mix and beat.  Add vanilla, milk and egg – beating again until fluffy.  Slowly mix in salt, baking soda, cocoa and flour.

3. Shape dough into balls (about 1.5 to 2 inches).  Roll in the set aside granulated sugar until coated.  Place on ungreased cookie sheet (I baked 9 at a time to give them plenty of room to spread).

4. Bake 15 to 18 minutes depending on your oven (check after 15).  Remove and right away place one of the Simple Pleasures Chocolates into the center of each cookie.  The cookies will spread a bit more when you do this and possibly crack around the edges.  Take them off the cookie sheet and place on a rack to cool.

Peanut Butter Honey Cookies

This is what they’re going to be like inside when they’re still warm … but be assured even when they’re completely cool, the Simple Pleasures Chocolate is still sweet, smooth and creamy, making it the perfect complement to the more salty and crispiness of the peanut butter cookie.

Yep it’s the ‘Simple Pleasures’ that make us smile too!  My daughter proclaimed them “Tasty Good”.

I received a free sample of Hershey’s Simple Pleasures chocolates from The Hershey Company.  I was asked to use them in a recipe, but was not obligated to write anything at all.  Views about the product are honest and my own and were not influenced by product received.
