Stuff a stocking with Chris Mann’s NEW Album Roads.

If you think he sounds familiar it’s probably because Chris competed his way to the Finals of The Voice on Team Christina.

About the album – Roads boasts a wildly eclectic assortment of songs, ranging from Willie Nelson’s “Always on My Mind” and Lady Antebellum’s “Need You Now” to “Ave Maria” and Damien Rice’s “The Blowers’ Daughter,”with the latter featuring a special guest appearance from Christina Aguilera (which you can listen to in its entirety on PerezHilton.com). Mann co-wrote two songs, “Cuore,” based on Bach’s “Air on a G String,” and the contemporary ballad “Falling.”

Since we’re pretty eclectic in the music we listen to in our home, I was interested in listening to this album and seeing if we’d enjoy Chris Mann — I can emphatically say we do!

Chris Mann manages to seamlessly blend a classical/operatic sound with pop – to produce a softer sound that is perfect for relaxing and background music for small social gatherings. As I was listening to it, I pictured it as the perfect soundtrack to sitting back on a winter night with the fire blazing in the corner, snuggled up with a blanket and a beverage of choice.

One of my favorite songs on this album is “Cuore”, and while I don’t understand a word in the song, the familiar melody of the track reminds me of our wedding day where one of the songs we used was “Air on a G String.” Each time I listen to this song, I remember that day, and it makes me fall in love with my husband all over again. That’s powerful music!

I have no doubt that if you have a name on your gift list that enjoys the music of Michael Bublé, you’ll be thanked over and over again for gifting this CD for the holidays…of course if this is the type of music you enjoy as well, pick up a copy for yourself too!
