With my cruise coming up really soon, I’m still looking for some formal wear, but I don’t want to spend a lot of money on an outfit because I know that I won’t wear it often after that. I received an e-mail from Marshalls/T.J.Maxx with few tips on what’s in season and on trend, that will help anyone make an entrance no matter what the occasion.
• Ditch the LBD: (Little Black Dress) – Forget boring black– color, patterns and romance are the name of the game this season. For a walk on the wild side, consider something with bold stripes or an exotic animal print. For a flirty and feminine look, consider the abundance of floral patterns in luxurious fabrics like satin or romantic details like rosettes and lacy layering. Mix it up by going sleeveless, one-shouldered or even strapless.
• Put a little sparkle in your step: Whether you wear them platform-high or ballet flat-low, shoes with a little something extra are what’s hot this season! For fancier footwear, look for unique embellishments like jewels, lace or metallic shine. Many of the best styles – including peeptoes and wedges – do double duty as perfect daytime and evening footwear, so you get twice the mileage.
• You’re never fully dressed…: Without your accessories! Whether it’s this season’s must-have clutches, colorful skinny belts or vintage-like jewelry, accessories bring the whole look together. When finding that finishing touch, pay attention to small delicate details like rhinestone clasps and rouching and styles in metallic colors, satin and sequins.
I’m planning on stopping by our local T.J.Maxx this week to see what I can find, in any case I know it won’t be hard on the wallet if I find something that fits me, since their prices on designer brands are great.
