KIND Healthy Snacks

I love snacking, and because of that I’m always on the lookout for healthy snacks.  That way I don’t feel guilty when the munchies strike, because I’m snacking on something good for me.  That’s why I was glad to find another healthy snack to add to my list; KIND.

KIND Healthy Snacks come in a number of Fruit & Nut combinations.  They also have a line called KIND PLUS which has added benefits with things like Antioxidants, Omega-3s and Protein.

I got to try a number of different flavors including; Walnut & Date, Almond & Apricot, Almonds & Apricots in Yogurt, Almond & Coconut and Mango Macadamia.

The things I really like about the KIND Healthy Snacks are:

  • That they are exactly what they say they are.  That sounds funny, so let me explain.  When you look at the KIND snacks , they’re fruit and nuts.  HUGE pieces of nuts and fruit.  So when you pick up an Almond & Apricot KIND snack you see Almonds & Apricots.
  • One snack is satisfying.  These aren’t 100 calorie snacks.  The different flavors I tried had between three and five grams of fiber.
  • The added benefits of KIND PLUS.  The Mango Macadamia for example is fortified with Calcium, high in Folic Acid and Vitamin-D3.
  • They are all natural, very low in sodium and are gluten free.

While the Mango Macadamia variety won the Best New Product at the Natural Products Expo East in 2008, my favorite of the flavors I tried was the Walnut & Date.

I liked it because it wasn’t too sweet, and the flavors reminded me so much of the Mediterranean.

None of the flavors that I tried though tasted sugary sweet, they were all very natural tasting.

I also appreciate that all the ingredients in KIND Healthy Snacks are pronounceable!  The Almond & Coconut has only seven: almonds, honey, dried coconut, Non GMO glucose, puffed rice, chicory fiber, soy lecithin.

Overall I’d purchase these again.  I love that just by sight it is evident what you are eating.  They are perfect as a 2 o’clock snack, in the afternoon when you need something to get you to dinner.

KIND is a snack that also gives back.  KIND is working to inspire “not so random” acts of kindness by awarding $100,000 to important causes in 2010 through its “Do the KIND Thing” initiative.  With Do the KIND Thing, people can support causes they care about by doing kind acts and inspiring others to do the same.  From big name charities to heartfelt community causes such as your child’s school nutrition program — all charitable efforts are game!

  1. They look like a very healthy snack, but I think they have just a few too many nuts in them for my taste. Thanks for the great review as always!
