Matcha.
This is really different than anything else I’ve used before. For those of you who don’t know what Matcha is – it’s green tea, but not like the kind in a tea bag, or loose leaf as it were. It’s powder that’s ground up from the green tea leaves. Hence it’s very Kermit green hue. This also means you consume the entire leaf providing your body and mind with a maximum concentration of Polyphenols and EGCG. The difference between Matcha and brewed green tea? UP TO 137x THE ANTIOXIDANTS!
There are two types of Matcha – ingredient grade and ceremonial grade. If you’re going to be drinking it, especially straight up hot (1/2 tsp Matcha to 3 oz of hot water), you want to make sure you’re getting ceremonial grade. I used the KissMe Organics Organic Ceremonial Grade Matcha in my recipe.
I found that the Matcha powder does have a hint of bitterness to it, but you can counter that with some sweetener, I use honey. That being said, I have never tried or used Matcha before trying the KissMe Organics Organic Ceremonial Grade Matcha, so have nothing to compare it to.
This Iced Green Tea Crème Drink is a great way to get the health benefits of Matcha in a tasty way.

While I typically am a coffee drinker, Matcha powder is definitely a way for me to get a healthier energy boost throughout the day. I’m excited to try more recipes using it.
You can find KissMe Organics Organic Ceremonial Grade Matcha on Amazon.com. Organic Matcha does not come cheap so don’t get sticker shock when you see the $28.00 price (which is after looking around at other brands a great deal actually and it also comes with a Free Recipe booklet). And make sure you’re comparing apples to apples when looking around because this is Ceremonial grade which is a higher quality Matcha. KissMe Organics Organic Ceremonial Grade Matcha also comes from Japan which is a distinction worth noting – the best Matchas come from Japan though some are sourced in China, Japanese Matcha for the most part is a better Matcha.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
