Candy Bar Surprise Cookies
Just like an Easter Egg – Candy Bar Surprise Cookies have a treat inside!

Ingredients

  • 10 oz white chocolate chips
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tin Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups plain flour
  • Hershey Candy Bar Pieces of your choice

Preparation

1. Combine chocolate, butter and Sweetened Condensed Milk in a medium saucepan, stir over low heat until the mixture is smooth. Stir in the vanilla and flour and mix to combine, the batter will be quite sticky.

2. Shape tablespoons of the cookie dough around a piece of Hershey Candy Bar, and then place on cookie sheet.

3. Place the cookies onto baking pans lined with parchment paper. Bake in a 350 ° preheated oven for 9-10 minutes, or until just set. Allow to set on baking sheet then transfer to cooling rack.

Chopped Up Hershey Candy Bars

I used White Kit Kat bars in mine, and then when I ran out of those I cut up some Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.  Also my batter stayed warm for quite a while so I had trouble ‘wrapping’ the dough around the candy bar pieces. (The second batch was easier since the dough had cooled off some). So I put the dough on the cookie sheet, placed the candy in the middle and then put some more dough on top.  The ‘garnish’ on top of the finished cookie is just canned icing with some added cocoa powder, heated just enough in the microwave to drizzle on top.

The next time I make them I will make them smaller, they are very sweet and the size I made is almost too much for the teeth to handle!
