#NauticaforDad #CollectiveBiasNautica Life - DIY Nautical CoastersMy husband is my best friend.  He is home five out of seven days a week, and I’m often asked by people how I deal with that.  I LOVE it.  I love having him around so much.  The two of us, we’ve been through a lot together.  The loss of parents, medical issues, two huge moves, raising our daughter, and so much more. While I’m a worrier and tend to bend toward being over the top anxiety ridden, my husband, he’s the anchor in our family.  Even if he’s worrying on the inside, the guy is as cool as a cucumber and steady in a storm.

He’s also our family’s compass.  I trust his judgement and decisions because he always has our best in mind.  When that meant moving from Canada to the United States without knowing a soul where we were moving to, you bet I had my doubts.  Turns out it was one of the best things our family ever did.

He’s taught us to love life.  I was blessed growing up being able to travel, my husband on the other hand didn’t get that chance as a child.  Traveling with someone who didn’t have the advantage of doing it frequently, puts a whole new perspective on it.  While we aren’t outdoorsy people at all, one thing we love to do is cruise.  Each port we disembark in he treats as an adventure, and even when we’re on the ship he just soaks in the water of the ocean as far as the eye can see. He’s a terrific dad.  He and our daughter are two peas in a pod.  Since she has always been more interested in spaceships and pirates  than tea parties and princesses, he has always said that he has the best of both worlds.  A daughter and son rolled into one package 🙂  Playing pretend, bedtime stories, teaching her to play chess and helping her with math homework; he’s always there for her, being her anchor and her compass.  I really hope that she finds a man as great as her dad to marry someday too.

For all those reasons, Nautica Life is a perfect fit to gift my husband for Father’s Day this year.Nautica Life

The Nautica Life Fragrance:
Nautica began with the pure sparkling wetness of Living Sea Salt and added Organic Ivory Coast Ginger to add a note of energy on top. The main scent is a mixture of Natural Sage, Provence Lavender and Natural Violet Leaf, which despite what you’d think, is very masculine! Fragrance can hold so many notes and that is true of Nautica Life, you’ll also find hints of refined Hinoki Wood combined with Organic Tonka and marine Seamoss, which definitely exudes a ‘come hither’ scent for men!

This is just the scent to remind him (and me!) of all our cruise vacations over the years.  When we started our journey together we decided that I would stay home with any children we had.  So over the years it has become second nature to me to try and save where I can, so we can do things like take cruises on one income.  This deluxe gift set for only $65.00, worth $128.00 is a great value. The set includes the following Nautica Life products: 3.4 oz Eau de Toilette, 2.5 oz Aftershave Balm, 2.5 oz Shower Gel, and 1 oz Eau de Toilette.

I found the Nautica Life gift set at Macy’s when I was at my local mall.  I just followed the signs to the Men’s Fragrance department, and it was right there at the mall entrance on a special display for Father’s Day.Nautica Gift Sets for Father's Day available at Macy'sMy husband however isn’t great at inference, so together my daughter and I made him a set of nautical coasters and a special ‘card’ so he would understand the significance of why we purchased Nautica Life for him. These are easy to make with some t-shirt transfer material, denim coasters and an iron.  The card just takes a piece of paper and a small corked bottle.

My daughter is studying video game design at university and many of her courses deal with digital art.  So she drew the anchor and compass and added some word art to show her dad what he means to her.  (You can download those below I have two files, one mirrored and one not depending on the t-shirt transfer material you use).[Click on the links to Download Files for personal use: Mirrored FileNon-Mirrored]

Then I cut them out and ironed them on to some denim coasters that I picked up at a craft store.  (You could also just wrap some thin denim material around some 4×4 tiles if you can’t find pre-made coasters).DIY Father's Day Coasters - Nautical Coasters - Denim CoastersFor our “Message in a Bottle” card, I just printed our sentiments on a brown piece of paper and rolled it up and put it in a corked bottle that I also purchased at the craft store.Message in a bottle for Father's DayWith Nautica Life and a few supplies it’s just that easy to show Dad he’s your anchor and compass in life!  Do you have a father figure in your life that is your anchor?GIVEAWAY
