Time is flying, and I can’t believe that three weeks have gone by since I started the Healthier You challenge and my Dial Diaries. Amy Hendel’s tips on Skin Healthy Foods and Exercise have been helpful and a motivating factor in keeping me working on getting healthier.
Amy’s tips for Skin Care this week include:
Making sure you use sunblock. It’s the #1 tool most dermatologists recommend for preventing skin cancers and premature aging. This is something I am actually really good at! I’m not into tanning at all, and actually cover up my skin most of the time with light layers even in the summer time. It doesn’t bother me to be pasty white! I use a daily moisturizer that includes SPF every morning.
Once you have embraced the daily SPF, then good skin care really boils down to two steps: Cleansing and Moisturizing.
Your facial cleanser should match your skin type and age. That’s something that I should probably look into more. I’m hitting 40 in a few years, and I just use whatever cleanser I’ve either received as a sample for review or what I kind find on sale at the store, and some of them are probably not ideal for my skin type, or my age!
Your body wash should gently cleanse without stripping your skin of important oils and moisture. Choosing a body wash like Dial® NutriSkin™ will allow you to cleanse and moisturize in just one step. Since I’m a member of the Dial Diaries Healthier You program I received a bottle of the Dial NutriSkin, so I have that step covered too!
If you choose to use a separate moisturizer, use it directly after the shower while your skin is still damp. The moisturizer will seal in the water droplets for added hydration. Woot! Yet another thing I do — I’m rocking this week!
So how am I doing on the previous weeks challenges? Well I’m still struggling a bit with the water, but I am doing better than I was the last two weeks. The water pitcher I received to review this past summer had a problem with the filter leaking, so I had stopped using that and so I was buying distilled water at the store. Problem being… I either forgot to bring it up to the kitchen, or I forgot to buy it, so the water intake slowed down. Today I bought a new water filter system at the store, so I’m anticipating drink gallons of water this week!
As for the exercise…I fell off the wagon on that one. I did really well at the beginning of the week, exercising faithfully when my calendar told me so. But then the fourth day, I put the task off, and the fifth and so on…the last day of the week, I actually did it, and to ‘repent’ I did it for longer and I upped the speed on the treadmill. This week between blogging and Christmas prep, I still hope to at least try and get some in. I’ll check in next week to let you know how it went!

Disclosure of Material Connection: I wrote this post as part of a blog campaign by Dial and received samples and information from them, but the review and opinions are my own.
