Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem Nintendo DS Giveaway

If you didn’t get a chance to see Despicable Me in the theater this summer you missed a surprisingly good movie.  If you have a “cheap theater” in your city that has movies that are shown after they’ve made their run in the main theaters, and it’s playing, stop by, I don’t think you’ll regret it.  If it passed you buy, be sure to rent or buy the DVD. 

As with most movies, there are usually video games that take the theme and run with them appropriate to their platform, and Despicable Me has one too; Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem (D3Publisher).  The game is available for Nintendo DS, Wii, PS2, and PSP.

By the way if you haven’t seen the movie, these minions are anything but scary, these guys are so cute and huggable, you’ll want to stuff them in your pockets and take a few home!  But I digress, back to the game.

Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem, is a new puzzle game based on the adorable minions in the movie.  The gamer plays Gru’s minion army, attempting to go through various stages of the game collecting items (stage goal, coins, and stuffed unicorns!), all for the sake of stealing the Brainfish from Gru’s nemesis, Vector.

The object of the game is to send your constantly moving minions through obstacles.  This can range anywhere from springs, vacuum tubes, spike pits, walls and spaced platforms.  Some puzzles can only be solved by certain minions so you must coordinate your army together to successfully collect your goal and head back to the door.  Who says kids can’t exercise their brains using logic and problem solving skills by playing video games?!

While the game has a light-hearted themes and cute graphics, the puzzles themselves can be difficult to complete (which can be frustrating for those who have little patience).  Oh yeah, and there’s a time limit …no pressure, LOL!

If your children enjoy puzzle games (or heck even you!), this is an enjoyable one to play.
