It’s been a long time since I’ve been caught up enough in both my blogging life and my real life that I have a chance to share some things that aren’t sponsored or haven’t been sent to me by a brand to try out! I’m hoping (and I say that with just a bit of facetiousness), that I’ll be able to do this more in the future, but every time I say I will…well you know life happens!

That being said, I chronicle just about everything I make and we eat in our home. Between adjusting or creating recipes and photographing pretty much everything we eat, I have a pretty big file of recipes to share with you all at this point. The time to get them up here on the blog though is what I usually lack!

Take the post you’re reading right now for instance. Did you know National Waffle Day was August 24th? Yes, and I made waffles – Chocolate Waffles even! And yes it is now nearly 6 months later, and I’m finally posting them, sheesh!

And honestly, it isn’t really even a recipe, LOL!

I just used a cake mix in place of pancake mix. Poured the batter into a cleaned out coffee creamer container (that hint courtesy of Pinterest), then into the waffle iron, and baked them.

In all truthfulness, while the family proclaimed them stellar and loved their dessert that evening, it probably would have worked better if I had found an actual chocolate waffle recipe, and not just made cake mix in it .

BUT I have 6 months to find a better recipe for this year’s national waffle day!
