You may have heard the news today that President Obama is planning on making an announcement tomorrow in regards to student loans.  The changes will affect a lot of families, as outside of mortgages the number one source of household debt are student loans.

That’s a topic that’s been on my mind a lot lately, as you may have noticed if you are a regular reader of my blog.  With a sophomore in high school, the days of paying college tuition are coming closer for us.

We have high academic aspirations for our daughter and theoretically we hope she’ll get a really good scholarship and be able to help her out with the additional costs; but realistically we have to assume that student loans may be on our horizon.

I do a lot of reading – probably at least a book a week – and all summer long when I heard about the movie “The Help”, I meant to get the book and read it.  But life happens when you make plans, and I never got around to it.

I love the Taste of Home magazine.  Just opening the cover and seeing the recipes makes me think of family gatherings, friends hanging out and of course comfort food.  Recipes from the magazine quickly become family traditions.

The Hershey Company will have sweets fans screaming for more treats this Halloween season with a wide array of candy assortments and classic favorites.

My husband is a real movie buff – especially for any kind that are of the sci-fi variety, he also likes t-shirts so when I can meld the two together I almost become like Wonder Woman in his eyes.
