This week has been a test on my patience and grace.  After finally calming down from the stress of our nightmarish home closing and the realization that the home needs more work than we were led to believe (which I’m sure will be another blog post in the future), now we were stalking the mailbox for notification that our daughter was a National Merit Semi-Finalist….with no notification being delivered. 

Back in February, I reviewed the iPad in Education for Dummies book by Sam Glickson.  After having used the tips and suggestions in it in our homeschool for the last 6 months, I wanted to share a vlog of 5 reasons I think the book is worth getting for not just educators, but parents and really anyone who is wanting to use their iPad more efficiently and effectively for learning.

It’s not very long, just 5 minutes (that means just 1 minute per reason, see that’s not much!), so grab your coffee and sit with me a while!

I think if you’ve followed my blog for awhile, or at least have searched through my recipes on occassion, you’ll realize I’m not a “from scratch” type of gal.  I’m open to learning new things though, and so when I had the chance to review Homemade with Love: Simple Scratch Cooking from In Jennie’s Kitchen, I was eager to see if I could make anything in it without creating an epic fail of a dish.

Surprisingly enough to me, not only were a lot of the recipes not difficult – they were also things my family would eat – and so I hunkered down to mix, whisk and boil from scratch food in my own kitchen.  

I have not had much time for pleasure book reading in a while. Between resource books and the books Amber is reading for her high school courses, sitting down with a book just to enjoy a story and its characters was shelved for some time. When I was approached to do a review and giveaway of A Plain Scandal by Amanda Flower, I knew it would be a good way to get some down time in for me, and lighten up my reading load a bit too.

In case you haven’t figured it out yet, I sort of have a thing an obsession with my Apple products.

I get a little giddy thinking about ALL the things these little powerhouse electronics can do for me. Then, I talk a little too much about it to people who probably could care less.

I’m sure though for every 10 people that tune me out, there is one that wants to know all the neat things I can do. And if they ask a question or two, I’m happy to go on for hours.
