Books Full of Dancing Just for Kids & a Giveaway

Here’s another wonderful book published by Abrams Books.  If you have a little dancer in your family, she will love it!  Here is a little bit about it:

My Friend Maya Loves to Dance
By Cheyrl Willis Hudson, illustrated by Eric Velasquez

Young Maya loves to dance.  She tries all different kinds of dancing, ballet, jazz and tap.  Everywhere she goes she’s moving to the music.  But who is this anonymous story teller who shares about her friend Maya’s affinity for dancing?  For that you’ll have to read to the end!

The illustrations leap off the page thanks to Eric Velasquez’s oil paintings done on 300 lb water color paper, and the cadence of Cheryl Willis Hudson’s rhyming patterns are a dance to themselves.

Last month I shared with you a book by Abrams entitled Ballroom Bonanza

This is a colorful and delightful alphabet book.  Click the link above to see my review of it.

I find myself in possession of an additional copy of Ballroom Bonanza and so would like to share it with one of you!

To enter the giveaway let me know what song your kids like dancing to.

  1. well my oldest 2 wouldn’t dance for anything when they were really little. THen, one day we were shopping and they had music playing in the background and the Commodores Brick House came on and all at once both of them busted out dancing. When the song was over they both stopped and never really did that again. I guess I was playing the wrong music for them all along

  2. The soundtrack to SHARKTALE is a big dance hit at my house
