All-Weather Hair Care

Do you want to love your hair in all types of weather?  Wind, rain, humidity, dry air, and sun can all ruin your hair.  But there are a few tips that you can use to keep you hair looking fantastic no matter what the elements throw your way.

1. Moisturize

Hair needs to be hydrated.  Use a moisturizing shampoo and deep conditioner, or opt to use a weekly conditioning treatment instead.  Your hair will be more resilient the less dry it is.

2. Lather Gently

Using a mild, sulfate-free shampoo might produce less lather, but it’s better for your locks.  Sulfates dry out your hair follicles, and hence we go back to tip 1.  If you just can’t bear to give up your lather, you may just want to shampoo less frequently.

3. Skip the Blow Dryer or Flat Iron

High heat dries out hair (again, back to tip 1!).  Did you know that dry hair is what makes your hair frizz in humidity?!
Go more natural and use a microfiber hair towel, like the Hiara Hair Towel, to give your hair a break from parching it with those heat gadgets.Hiara Hair Towel Wrap & HeadbandThe benefits of using a Hiara Towel is that it quickly dries your hair without heat.  It stays in place without slipping off and is ideal for everyday use because it’s gentle on your hair, unlike blow dryers and flat irons.  It works with all hair lengths and types too, plus it’s easy to pack in a bag for traveling or when you go to the gym.Hiara Hair Towel WrapThe Hiara Hair Towel Wrap also comes packaged with a headband.  which is handy for keeping your hair off your face when putting make up on or taking it off, or when doing facial treatments. When your hair is properly moisturized it will prevent breakage and boost your shine.  Dry hair takes oils out of your hair which leaves it dull and prone to breakage.  Using the Hiara Hair Towel is less moisture-zapping than using a blow dryer.
When you’re ready to take the towel off, comb through your hair with a wide-tooth comb, and to add extra shine spritz with coconut water oil.
You can find the Hiara Hair Towel Wrap & Headband on Amazon.com for $14.95.

  1. I can’t live without my hairdryer. I do try to wash my hair every other day and use a good moisturizer.
