Taco Cabana recently launched the fifth salsa of the Salsa Especial! Program Salsa Cocida – a simmered blend of fresh green tomatillos, red tomatoes and jalapenos cooked with yellow onions and fresh cilantro. I have to say it’s got a kick to it, but it’s still not too fiery hot for those of us that have a milder palate.I was even able to snag some of the last Salsa Especial! at our local Taco Cabana still, the Pineapple Chipotle salsa 🙂
Taco Cabana hosted my husband and I for a Cinco de Mayo dinner (thank you!) and I couldn’t think of a better place to do that. I came hungry and left full – but didn’t have to load on the calories to do so!
Taco Cabana has plenty of healthy alternatives.
The Taco Cabana LITE’N UP. menu features 4 tasty options under 450 calories.
I tried the Steak Street Tacos. Grilled steak, cilantro and chopped onions on small soft corn tortillas. You get three of them in your order and it’s just 290 calories! They are tasty just the way they’re served, or add extra toppings or salsas from the Salsa Bar for even more flavor. I ate one plain, one with the Salsa Cocida and one with the Pineapple Chipotle salsa. Yum! A bit of a different taste with each one 🙂
So head out to your local Taco Cabana and get a taste of the Salsa Cocida before it’s gone!
