Erin Coss is delighted to share the tidbits she’s found as she’s studied God’s Word with you.    So she penned this book A Tidbit Romance: Falling in Love with God’s Word One Devotion at a Time.

60 short devotionals are within its pages, enough for a couple of months worth to go with your morning coffee or afternoon quiet time while the kids are napping.  The word “tidbit” describes these devotions perfectly.  Tidbits generally are a short pieces of information about something that is easily looked over yet the facts hold interest when expounded on.  Erin takes these tidbits from Scripture and shares her thoughts on them with the reader, having them take a look introspectively with just a few short words.  If you were raised in a home where the Bible was read to you and attended Sunday School and Church services and thought that you have heard pretty much every account in it, you might be surprised at some of the verses that Erin has chosen for her devotions.  One set of verses in particular dealing with Elisha, I can’t ever recall hearing or reading.  Others I have read and am quite familiar with but missed really reading what the words are saying. Erin’s highlighting of the verses, and her thoughts got me thinking about what God was trying to say through them all over again.

I think what impressed me most about this book is that Erin doesn’t portray herself as being more enlightened than you or I, she is just a mom, wife, struggling sinner like the rest of us.  She just enjoys writing, and sharing what she has gleaned from the pages of the Bible.  Her writing is so real, that you can’t help but read the words and think “Hey, she’s just like me!”.  

Short and to the point, there is no excuse to say “there is no time today” to rejuvenate with God’s Word.  Erin’s tidbits will help you fall in love with the Bible again or more deeply, and hopefully will encourage you to find some tidbits of your own.
