This review isn’t endorsed by Tabula Tua…I just wanted to share my thoughts about this great store!
Last summer we received the exciting news that the first of my nephews & nieces had gotten engaged, then we received a ‘Save the Date’ card for one of my husband’s nephews!
Both weddings will be in Canada this year, and neither couple has requested presentation for their gift choices. I don’t have the option of shopping at the stores they are registered at, but just because I can’t shop in Canada doesn’t mean I can’t shop at Chicago’s premiere tabletop store…even from Texas!
Tabula Tua is a longtime favorite of Chicago tastemakers and brides who are looking for something more vibrant for their tabletop entertaining. You will find some of the most beautiful dinnerware from around the globe on their website like Astier de Villatte and MUD Australia and many more.
Don’t think just because the tastemakers frequent Tabula Tua and they have quality brands that you have to be rich to shop there though. Because we need to hop on a plane for these weddings and airfare is pricey, our budget is limited, but Tabula Tua has a section of unique gifts for under $150. There are a lot of selections that are affordable and will allow us to purchase a memorable gift for the happy couples.
I also like the fact that they have something for everyone. There is a great selection of tableware, home accessories, kitchen accessories, drink ware and gifts on Tabula Tua.
My nephew & his bride-to-be have edgy, modern tastes, while my husband’s nephew & his bride-to-be are far more traditional in their likes. I can find items for both couples at Tabula Tua.
My nephew Joshua and fiancée Ashley would love anything from Tabula Tua’s Match Pewter collection. Each piece is handmade in Italy, and stamped with the place that it is made. I have my eye on purchasing the Octagonal Trivet for them or the iPad/Cookbook Holder. I know they would use both of those items routinely.
The items by Juliska are completely our niece-to-be Bethany’s taste. The traditional, rustic look of these baking, drink ware and tableware pieces have me at odds at which ones to buy for them! I think a set of 4 Heart Canapé Plates would be ideal for a wedding gift. But I also have my eye on the Berry & Thread Footed Fruit Bowl for them.
Both couples would love this Surrey Picnic Basket for Two. What a great way to keep the romance alive even after the honeymoon is over! And how fun would it be to add a Texas State Dish Towel to the gift, so they don’t forget about their Aunt & Uncle living down south?! 🙂
I love all the unique wedding gifts Tabula Tua has that are influenced by artisans around the world.
