I know I write a lot about our cell phone plans on my blog but when you’re on to something great, like lowest priced unlimited plans, you just want to tell everyone about it.
The past two weeks would have been really difficult for us without a cell phone plan. Between my blog, picking up friends and family at the airport, and traveling around the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex, we used a lot of data, text and minutes.
#FamilyMobile had me covered in Waxahachie, TX at the Scarborough Renaissance Festival. Even though I was warned before we went that cell reception is spotty at most of the festival, my service was great and I was able to Instagram the whole day.
It was also a good thing I brought my phone when we went to the George W. Bush Presidential Library in Dallas, because pretending to be POTUS for 30 seconds must be Instagrammed.
Oh and maybe also because I needed the unlimited data so we could use Google Maps’ GPS to get us home instead of driving in circles.
Of course I had to share the graduate on Facebook after her commencement ceremony with her diploma. This way all the aunties and uncles in Canada who couldn’t be there could see that indeed even homeschoolers go through this rite of passage complete with cap and gown .
But for all the cool things my phone can do on the go, the most important thing it does is connect me to our daughter.
When we were at the Renaissance Festival she had to work so she couldn’t come along. She texted while on her breaks and I sent some pictures to her to show her what we had been doing throughout the day, like this fun Star Wars get up complete with Stormtroopers in kilts because I knew she’d get a kick out of that.
I really love getting random texts from her like this when she’s at work.
Even though she only works a mile from home and usually it’s just five or six hours a shift, it makes my heart happy that she still wants to let her Mama know how she’s doing.
I sure hope she keeps that up when she’s at university in the fall (just not while she’s in class!). Right now we don’t talk on the phone a lot but I imagine both of us might want a vocal goodnight a few times a week when she’s away from home.
We’ve had Walmart Family Mobile for almost a year now and I’m so in love with the service. There is no contract to lock us in (although at this point I don’t see us switching any time soon), and we get 4G service with unlimited talk, text AND data for just $39.88 (+ taxes and fees and one time SIM card activation charge of $25) a month for the first line. Our other two lines are just $34.88 a month (+ taxes and fees and one time SIM card activation charge of $25) each.
That’s a cheap wireless plan for us to be able to keep in touch with our “little” girl.
How do you stay connected with your cell phone? Who do you call/text the most with it? Are you looking to change plans to something more affordable, one that has unlimited service with no overages, or one with no contract?
We have the plan through Walmart and have been very happy. A quick text saying "I'm here " makes having our college daughter 3hours away,a little easier.
That sounds like a great plan and really inexpensive!
You're such a good testimony to this product because you've been using it for so long! And I know you wouldn't take chances when it comes to staying in touch with your daughter.
I love that there are no contracts on the phones!
I'm constantly messaging my husband throughout the day. It makes me feel connected to him even if he's at work and I'm working from home. #client
