The Wolf of Tebron by C.S. Lakin – Giveaway

Guest Post by Amber Litke

The Wolf of Tebron is a tale that brings back the fantasy allegory themed of the Chronicles of Narnia.  Thisheart-felt story is 240 pages long, written by C.S. Lakin, and published by AMG Publishers.

The plot for this book follows a young man named Joran, who lives in a small village called Tebron.  After sending his wife away because he believes her unfaithful, he learns the distressing news that she’s been kidnapped by the Moon.  These claims are backed up by the troubling nightmares he experiences, and he eventually and grudgingly, sets out to save her.

Along the way he saves a wolf, Ruyah, from a trap, who follows him on his journey, and provides wisdom and counsel even when Joran would rather not listen to him.

The story as a whole, I found to be well written, the entire way through.  Descriptions are done well so that you can imagine what is happening, even at the most abstract of times.  You are able to connect with Joran during the ups and downs of his moods.

As an allegory, the raw idea is obvious enough, but I don’t think the author portrayed Ruyah’s position as Jesus as well as she could have within the plot of the story.  The fantasy elements of the story took over the spiritual point that was trying to be made.

Nevertheless it is still a touching story, and one worth reading.  The Wolf of Tebron is the first book in The Gates of Heaven series.
