“A Little Princess” was a classic tale that I enjoyed reading growing up. I loved the movie version starring Shirley Temple . Now here’s a new twist on the popular story, in a “Veggie” version. “The Penniless Princess” teaches an important lesson about knowing your own true worth.

Here’s the synopsis for the show:

Sweet Sara Crewe has everything a little girl could want – a loving family, lots of friends and a closet full of frilly dresses! But when life takes a turn and Sara goes from riches to rags, will she realize that her true worth lies not in what she has, but what’s in her heart? Find out in this inspiring new story from VeggieTales, based on the beloved classic novel “A Little Princess,” that reminds kids who they are in God’s eyes.

You can pre-order “The Penniless Princess” on Amazon for $9.99. Or the DVD will be released in Christian retail stores on August 11th, and everywhere else on August 14th.
