Time is Ticking, the Tension is High, and the Ultimate Showdown Between Good and Evil is About to Explode

The Lone Ranger arrives on Blu-ray Combo Pack, Digital HD and On-Demand Today! Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer star in the film.  It’s a wild ride of high velocity action, explosions and gunfights that brings the famed masked legend to life through brand-new eyes. The Lone Ranger (Hammer), the last of his kind, teams with Tonto (Depp), a dark and mysterious vigilante, to seek vengeance after justice has failed them. It’s a runaway train of epic surprises, as these two unlikely heroes must learn to work together.

The action and humor in this movie rendition of the classic series keeps the film at a good pace.  Johnny Depp, not surprisingly, has made Tonto less of a side kick and more of a leading man.  Both my husband and my daughter thought it was terrific.  My husband mostly because he watched the show as a kid and this just sort of updated his take on The Lone Ranger where he should be with the movie magic of the 21st century.  And my daughter just loves the odd, interesting characters Johnny Depp seems to masterfully create.  As for me, I enjoyed it as well.  If it’s possible, Armie Hammer makes The Lone Ranger even more endearing, because he wears the white hat so well.

Bonus Features on the discs include: “Riding The Rails Of The Lone Ranger,” “Becoming A Cowboy”, Deleted Scenes, Blooper Reel and “Arnie’s Western Road Trip”.

The Bloopers are always the first thing we watch when DVD bonus features include them.  It’s so much fun watching the out takes.  It often makes me wonder how they can ever get 2 hours of footage spliced together when they all obviously have a great time filming these movies and laugh quite a bit while taping!

Here’s a great gallery of photos showing a behind the scenes look of the The Lone Ranger.
