A cape and a mask can change the world! Not exactly, but VeggieTales uses a cape, mask and a group of veggie heroes to illustrate to kids they can make a difference! “The League of Incredible Vegetables” provides a lesson of how to conquer your fears while reminding them that we don’t have to be afraid, because God is always looking out for us! It also offers parents the opportunity to talk with their kids about the true meaning of heroism…no mask or cape required.

Synopsis:

It was a bright and sunny day in Bumblyburg…until Dr. Flurry came to town. This chillin’ villain wants to freeze the whole city…in fear! It’s a job to big for LarryBoy alone, so he turns to the “The League of Incredible Vegetables” to help save the town from Dr. Flurry’s icy grip! When it seems like they’re all moments from the deep freeze, will the League remember to turn to One who is bigger than all our fears? Includes a brand new theme song and music video from Grammy-nominated and Dove Award winning group, The Newsboys!

The VeggieTales have been an important part of our family for years. We have always appreciated the strong Biblical values taught in each and every video, but in a way that includes laughter and silliness.

Our son, who will be 7 in a few months, has been somewhat reluctant to watch most of them for the last few years since he thinks he’s too old to watch them now. But this was not the case with The League of Incredible Vegetables. They did a good job of appealing to a somewhat older crowd with this movie, and dealing with an issue we can all relate to.

The kids loved the various fears each veggie had, such as the fear of popping balloons, or the fear of monkey. And in a world where it seems everything is super heroes and villains, the kids through it was pretty “cool”, while as a parent, I was happy they were getting a good message about dealing with fear, and trusting God!

The music video was fantastic and had us all up and dancing along.

The Silly Song wasn’t as silly as some in the past, but it just wouldn’t be a VeggieTales movie without a silly song by Larry.

All in all, another A+ for Big Idea on appealing to both my almost 7 and 4 year old, and keeping me entertained at the same time!
