MARVEL’S The Avengers: Age of Ultron Super Heroes Assemble App

Our daughter has never been a girly-girl. Right from the beginning she gravitated toward the “boy” oriented toys and merchandise over princesses and tea parties. It’s something she never outgrew and even as a young adult she chose to dive into getting a degree in the video game design field that is by far dominated by men. She’ll be turning 19 on April 25th and it was no surprise to us that when we asked her what she wanted for her birthday that her response was to see the highly anticipated MARVEL’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron arriving in theaters May 1st.But you know I kind of like to spoil her, especially now that we don’t get to see her a lot. We’ll be taking her out for dinner before her birthday and I wanted to bring along a few small gifts for her to open as well as her tickets for the movie to see with her friends when it opens. Gearing up for the big movie event Walmart has some exciting MARVEL The Avengers products all throughout the store, as well as a really neat free augmented reality app available for iOS and Android devices called Super Heroes Assemble.The branded merchandise includes products from food, apparel, toys and more which feature The Avengers characters and while you’re shopping at the store you can scan the signs and some of the products with your camera and the app to unlock action-packed content within it.From the latest teaser and content from the upcoming MARVEL’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron to character pages and photo opps, The Avengers fans can suit up like their favorite Avenger in more ways than one!The app is pretty simple to navigate and when you press on the different characters and menu options it will show you what’s available, what can be downloaded and what you can scan to reveal the additional content. As you can see by my brief stint as Iron Man above, it’s pretty fun to play around with.I’ve come to acknowledge that my college student likes two things from her dad and mom; snacks and clothing 🙂 . That is so she doesn’t have to spend her own money on food and so she can go a few days longer without having to do laundry 😉 LOL . So I put together an Avengers themed birthday gift featuring some of those things and a few extras I think she’ll like too. There were so many products to choose from, and I was really excited to see a The Avengers t-shirt in the female Juniors department because as I know first hand “girls like super heroes too!”I couldn’t resist picking up the Hasbro MARVEL Titan Heroes Series Iron Man when I walked down the toy aisle and I think it is going to get a prominent place on her desk. The Dr. Pepper Cans just might get displayed on her windowsill when she is finished drinking the pop too 🙂 I’ll include the url to the app for her within her birthday card so she can  download it on her Android phone and take advantage of scanning some of the things I bought her to unlock the extra app content.

Go ahead and download the app and head over to Walmart to unlock all the fun content. Your kids will enjoy shopping with you if they can scan the signs and products and check out all the features in the app, that’s a sure bet!
