How did November come upon us so quickly? As we drove out to the college to pick our daughter up for Thanksgiving break it dawned on me that she’s almost finished her first semester! We’re starting to get used to this new season of life for us being empty nesters for much of the year. I am immensely thankful for our Unlimited Talk Text and Data/Web with our Walmart Family Mobile plan because it allows us to keep in touch with her while she’s living at school.
Then I began to think about what else has we’ve been doing that’s new in November and how our Walmart Best Plans were a part of that…let’s just call it NewVember!
At the beginning of the month I went to the WOW Summit and met a new friend, Carlee, over at FrugalandFunMom.com. We decided to head out to Downtown Disney one evening for dinner and shopping. Carlee drove us there, but little did we know that between a marathon and a concert, there were quite a few streets blocked off. Thankfully my unlimited data and the Waze app helped us navigate back to our hotel. It also was extraordinarily helpful to have a good data plan because the resort wi-fi did not work most of the time we were there. My Walmart Family Mobile plan allowed me to tweet, Instagram and Facebook without worrying about any overages.
NewVember also had us driving quite a few new vehicles! From a Chrysler 200C to a Ford Mustang and Ford F150s, we were cruising in style. Thanks to my Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone, I captured all those sweet rides in photos and videos. If only we got to keep them in our driveway 😉
I’ve been baking up a storm getting ready for the holidays and tried my hand at baking a new cake. A traditional German cake called Eierschecke that my mom would be so proud of me for baking. Alas, my family was not here to taste it, but thankfully with my Walmart Family Mobile plan, I was able to post some photos on Facebook so they could at least see the master piece before we ate it!
Some of the people in our family even got new phones this NewVember! When we started the Family Mobile plan my husband had a Samsung Galaxy S3, and we brought our own Nokia phone for our daughter. That Nokia phone has seen better days, and it sent its last text a few days before we picked her up for the holiday break. When she arrived home we did the ‘Sim Card Shuffle’. She got Dad’s old phone, and Dad got a new one. That’s one of the things I love about Walmart Family Mobile, they offer many affordable phones that you can purchase to use with the service. They also offer higher end devices like the Samsung Galaxy S4, which is great for those who want them.
Her Mama’s thriftiness has rubbed off on her! I saw her comparing prices online when we were out shopping using her new (to her) phone. It made me smile and I had to snap a picture!
Currently they have some Holiday rollback prices on the following Walmart Family Mobile phones:
ZTE ZMAX – $179.88 (was $199.88) <– That’s a great deal for a 5.7 ” HD screen phablet folks!!
Alcatel Evolve 2 – $49.88 (was $59.88)
Samsung Exhibit – $79.88 (was $99.88)
Nokia Lumia 635 – $99.88 (was $129.88)
LGL90-$119.88 (WAS $179.88)
GSIII- $199.88 (WAS $299.88)
Launch of the new Samsung Galaxy Avant – $199.88
I am very thankful that not only do we have phone plans, but also that we have lowest priced unlimited plans. $34.88/month for Unlimited Talk, Text, & Web and $29.88 for the second line. With the money we save on cellular service, we are able to do so many other things, and in November that means going above our regular giving to help children and families less fortunate have brighter and more blessed Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations. I can’t think of a better way to use that money we’ve saved. #Thankful4Savings
