I have to admit that even though I am a Texan I’ve never played Texas Hold’Em. I guess it’s because I’m not really a gambling type of gal. I do love me a great word puzzle game though, so when I heard about the new Texas Word’Em app, I needed to try it out. 
The game play goes like this:
You are given a series of 10 words that have blank spaces (think Hangman-esque). For each word, you have five cards at the bottom to choose from to give you a clue for what the main word is.
Here is where the challenge comes in…you’re score is dependent on how quickly you can guess the words and you’re only allowed one typing error! Oh the pressure 😉 Oh wait though that’s just the ‘puzzle’ part of the app.
The game goes up a notch when you don’t play solo but rather play against and challenge someone (because you know playing ‘poker’ by yourself whether with playing cards or words is more like solitaire than poker), and you can bet coins (fake ones y’all) on the ability of your success. 
There is another fun twist to Texas Word’Em though and that’s the Hot Sauce! When you activate the Hot Sauce at the beginning of your game if you win your score gets multiplied (yee’haw!), however if you lose… the other player gets to keep your Hot Sauce!
If you don’t like the challenge of playing against someone, no worries the solo mode still gives a nice game experience.
I’ve downloaded game apps before and quickly deleted them because instructions were poor or non-existent and I just got frustrated while trying to play. Texas Word’Em has a ‘Warm Up Mode’ where you play through all aspects of the app so you become familiar on game play, both solo and in a challenge situation.
You can connect your gameplay to Facebook which allows you to see which of your friends are playing which is a great way to set up Texas Word’Em Challenge games and a chance to score some Hot Sauce off your friends!
It’s a fun game to play and one round doesn’t take that much time either – but be forewarned you may want to play more than one round in a row to beat your score or to challenge friends!
