Still Hot After 30 Years – #HotterPockets Giveaway

I was invited to participate in this experience with Hot Pockets, for which they provided full travel expenses, meals and accommodations and other premiums, however my opinions are completely my own and I have not been compensated to publish positive or negative reviews of the event or products associated with my experience.

If you thought Hot Pockets were ‘so last decade,’ think again.

Yes, they’ve been around for 30 years.  Many of you ate them for after school snacks, or before softball games.. in the eighties… (I promise I won’t squeal about your age if you don’t about mine….)  and so you think that these ‘frozen’ sandwiches are for tweens/teens and maybe if you stretch it, twenty-somethings, but I have something to tell you – don’t pass by the Hot Pockets in the frozen food aisle – just like you, they’ve grown up.

And I was lucky enough to find out about these new irresistibly hot improvements before the general public!

HOT POCKETS brand sandwiches now has new and improved varieties, with new premium cuts of meat, new buttery seasoned crusts and real cheese.  That’s the reason we’re using the hashtag #HotterPockets to talk about them in social media!

I’ve already had the chance to try a lot of the improved Hot Pockets flavors when I was at Nestlé Prepared Foods and let me tell you the upgrades to them are noticeable, and they taste oh so good.

My overly picky husband can testify to that.  I actually had a box of the older variety and then picked up a box of the new improved Ham & Cheese Hot Pockets and served him one of each.  He right away picked up on the difference.

He noticed the flavor of the ham was more to his liking (which by the way is now a Hickory Ham) and he really, really liked the new crust.

Here’s the thing that really impressed me the most about my time with the Hot Pockets team though.  Comparing Hot Pockets with a Sandwich Showdown on the Hot Pockets website, opened my eyes to the way Hot Pockets are made and how they are a good portion size.

While my husband likes the Ham & Cheese, I like to mix my flavors of Hot Pockets up every time I eat them, so I’m excited that Nestlé has upgraded the meat not just in that one but has included 100% Angus Beef, Signature Pepperoni and White Meat Chicken in their different varieties.

And there is no such thing as too much real cheese.  Ever.

Remember I said that Frank Higgins, President and CEO of Nestlé Prepared Foods came in to talk to us?  What he said impressed me so much, and I want to share it with you.  Read this closely and then think about it.  Nestlé doesn’t make frozen foods.  They make fresh foods, that are then frozen.  Did you catch that?  Hot Pockets are made fresh.  That’s right the bread/crusts to the sandwiches are baked fresh daily.  They’re made with premium, quality ingredients.  And then they are frozen, for your convenience

Hot Pockets offers 30 different flavors that are portioned to be a delicious part of an overall balanced diet.  I’ve worked my way through quite a few of them between the Hot Pocket trip to the Nestlé Test Kitchen and from my own freezer.

Maybe you’ve heard of Jeff Mauro, Chef and TV Personality?  Well this guy knows sandwiches, I mean he’s eaten over 20,000 of them!  Take a look at the video below that he hosts about the new and improved Hot Pockets.  You have to take a peek at it just to see Chef Lucien Vendôme, and you’ll right away know why we had such an incredible day in the ‘Hot Pocket’ kitchen!

Look for the new packaging of Hot Pockets in your local grocery store freezers now.  Then buy some with this BUY TWO, GET ONE FREE on your next purchase of HOT POCKETS sandwiches coupon 😉  You might just be as surprised as some of the people in the video that the tasty sandwich  you’re eating is a Hot Pocket.  But you shouldn’t be, because quality ingredients and a trifecta of meat, cheese and bread – well that makes a delicious sandwich!

One reader is going to receive a Hot Pockets Prize Package.  Which will include Hot Pockets product coupons and Hot Pockets branded merchandise.
