Are you counting? 20 days, that’s it! I cannot believe that there is less than 3 weeks until Christmas! I don’t really have a ‘list’ per say, but one thing everyone who has me on their holiday shopping list knows is that they can NEVER go wrong with coffee! Bold, Decaf, Flavored, Ground, Beans, K-Cups, T-Discs, you name it, I CAN BREW IT!
We do have a Sam’s Club membership, and go about once a month, but with only 3 people in our family, there really is only so much bulk shopping one can do. However, coffee is one of those things that is on the Sam’s Club shopping list, and as I mentioned a few weeks ago in my holiday gift guide – Starbucks Holiday Blend is featured in the holiday e-guide by Party Blu Prints, among a host of other great ideas for holiday gifts and entertaining this season.
Each year they package it differently – and after seeing it in the #HolidayGuide I was excited to purchase and bring this blend home to brew.
Receiving coffee always warms my heart (pun intended), and I don’t hoard it, I like to share. I often will have friends in to share a couple of cups along with me, and during the holiday times, I like to serve special goodies to go with it.
Typically I try and make my own treats, but sometimes time isn’t on my side. The Sam’s Club Artisan Fresh baked goods have a wonderful collection of mouthwatering items to pair with Starbucks Holiday Blend Coffee.
I ended up purchasing a tray of Artisan Fresh Cinnamon Rolls. You can really ignite the excitement of the season with special holiday dishware too. So I brewed some Starbucks Holiday Blend Coffee, and served it in my favorite holiday-themed mug (added a candy cane in the ‘spoon’ slot, just to be a bit more festive, and it makes a tasty stir stick!) along with the Artisan Fresh Cinnamon Roll. It really helped the morning feel a bit more special.
These cinnamon rolls were so good and so fresh. And I wanted to save a couple of them for a dessert to share with you…and I had a hard time keeping the fingers of my family off of the two I reserved for that purpose!
Here’s a recipe I adapted from a Taste of Home Cookbook. The combination of the cinnamon, toffee and mocha…well it’s just indulgent!
Cinnamon Toffee Mocha Dessert
serves 4
Ingredients
4 ounces of cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup of chocolate syrup
2 tablespoons sugar
4 oz of Cool Whip
2 Artisan Fresh Cinnamon Rolls (available at Sam’s Club)
1/4 cup of strong brewed Starbucks Holiday Blend Coffee, cooled
1 Heath candy bar
Directions
With a mixer blend the cream cheese, chocolate syrup and sugar together. Then fold in the Cool Whip. Set aside.
Using a food processor (or really strong hands!) crush one of the Heath bars. Set aside.
Cut the cinnamon rolls into pieces, about 1″ in size or so and place in a bowl. Pour the cooled coffee on top and toss lightly. The pieces might get slightly soggy from absorbing the coffee, that’s okay, it can have the texture of a pudding, if you want it to be firmer use less coffee, or omit the coffee altogether (although then it would just be a Cinnamon Toffee Dessert).
Spoon the pieces into 4 dessert dishes. Spread the cream cheese/whip topping on top of the cinnamon rolls. Sprinkle with the crushed up Heath bar.
Refrigerate for at least 60 minutes before serving.
Coffee Lover on your gift list? Someone you want to express appreciation to during the holidays that you don’t necessarily need to ‘wrap’ a gift for? Why not share some Starbucks Holiday Blend with them and some Artisan Fresh baked goods? I have no doubt whomever you share these with will have a smile on their face the rest of the day!
