Spud Lightyear is what you get!
A fun Toy Story twist on the ever popular and classic Mr. Potato Head. Personally I think this is one of the coolest Potato Heads yet, but then we’re huge Buzz Lightyear fans in our home.
We took Spud Lightyear with us on a meet-up vacation with my parents and sister. My 3 1/2 year old nephew was so excited when he saw the box.
Now that he has a little brother, my sister was happy to have another Mr. Potato Head, so they each have one!
I’m sad that I don’t have any pictures of him playing with it, because he was having so much fun. I thought my Mom was taking some and I was just going to copy hers, but alas I never got any (that’s what I get for assuming huh? lol!).
In any case Spud Lightyear’s visor was the biggest hit of all the parts. Up and down, the visor went, over and over again!
Spud comes with; eyes, nose, teeth, arms, uniform, visor, jet pack, shoes, ears and of course that potato body. The smaller parts can be stored inside like the original Mr. Potato Head.
The arms were also a hit with my nephew. He enjoyed putting the uniform on, and then putting the arms in place, and then taking it apart again.
Spud Lightyear kept the little guy occupied and distracted in the hotel courtyard when we were deciding our plans for the days.
Since Spud Lightyear is for ages 2+, my nephew is just the right age for this. Having a recognizable Disney character makes it even more fun for those who are a little older.
The parts are also a little more challenging than the original. Things like the ears can’t be on the body if the visor is in place, and the uniform has to be put in place before the arms can be attached when both those parts are used. This is good for the 3, 4 or 5 year olds, because they need to use some problem solving skills when playing with Spud Lightyear to get him put together properly.
Playskool is offering one lucky reader a Spud Lightyear of their own.
