A&W Root Beer helps create the perfect timeless family night.
Monday night is our small group night. It’s when we get together with a group of friends and all our kids, eat a meal together, play games, talk — really it’s a night to take time to do life together. These are friends that are the family we chose for ourselves 🙂 As summer winds down and the kids prepare to go back to school in less than two weeks (SAY WHAT?! HOW did that happen so fast?!) – we want to make these last couple of Mondays of summer amazing for them.
So it’s pretty great that August 6th (TODAY!) is National Root Beer Float Day and it happens to land on a Monday because A&W Root Beer has a long history of creating family memories. The unique, creamy taste of A&W Root Beer is a simple treat that creates fun, care-free experiences for families and can help make any moment special.
Friends, family, A&W Root Beer and vanilla ice cream — it doesn’t get much better than that… or does it?! What if we added some brownies to that mix?! Oh yeah! That brings it up a notch 🙂 A perfect sweet treat for family small group night. EVERYONE is going to love this!
For this Brownie Sundae Root Beer Float, you’ll need:
- Brownie Bits
- Vanilla Ice Cream
- A&W Root Beer
- Whipped Cream
- Chopped Nuts
To have the BEST Root Beer Float pre-chill some mugs in the freezer. Always start with a frosted mug 🙂 You know just like they do at A&W 😉 We used mason jars, just so you could see our fabulous creation, but plastic mugs/cups work just as well.
• Put some brownie bits in the mug.
• Add 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream.
• Fill to top with A&W Root Beer. (That’s when you get that foamy goodness!)
• Top with whipped cream, chopped nuts, and more brownie bits.
While I think our float is pretty fantastic – for more “float how-tos” and recipe inspiration visit, www.rootbeer.com. You’ll probably find some drool worthy ideas on A&W’s Instagram account as well.

THis looks so fun. I love rootbeer floats but have never tried them with toppings like brownies.
