I don’t consider myself particularly green, but our family does what it can to reduce the impact on the environment. We’ve been using fluorescent light bulbs for years, I bring my own bags to the store when I shop and we recycle most everything we can if possible.

Papers, plastic and glass are a given, and we gather up our electronics about twice a year when they’re either broken or obsolete and bring those to the hazardous waste site (in our city they take electronics and things you can’t just ‘throw’ in the trash year round). But until just recently it never occurred to us to participate in toner cartridge recycling, we had always just thrown our used printer cartridges in the garbage (oops!).

So we’re starting to gather those up too now, and when we have at least eight empty ones we’re going to fill out the form on InkTechnologies.com, get a shipping tag and then send them off to their recycling center. It’s free for us, and another way we can leave a smaller footprint in the way we live.

This would be a really easy way for a small business office to recycle their toner cartridges as well. I remember when I was working in the insurance business with about a dozen printers in the office, we easily would have had eight or more empty cartridges a month that we would just toss.

Do you recycle your toner cartridges? If not, take a look at this service Ink Technologies provides at not cost to you!

  1. I didnt know you could go there an do this, yes ill start recycling mine too, thanks

  2. Yes, we recycle them and I even switched to a new printer that uses less toner. Love it.

  3. Recycling is a step that can offer enormous benefits. For sure if a greater number of people will choose refurbished ink toner cartridges, there will be less of a carbon footprint and they will also benefit personally because of the amount that they will be able to save.

  4. Great post. This is a good initiative towards saving the environment and also we can save a good amount of money.

  5. Donate used printers, Ink cartridges recycling, and help to support those who need all this.

  6. It's good to know that your family is concern about saving the environment. It maybe just a simple act of helping but It's impact is great.

  7. I wasn't aware that toner cartridges were something that could be recycled so easily. It would probably me worth it to check out my workplace, and see what they are doing with the old ink cartridges. It probably wouldn't be very good if they were just getting thrown in the dumpster out back. Every little thing makes an impact on the environment.
